This is how you *actually* do the things you say you’re gonna do 🗓️

When I first started writing this newsletter, my idea was to send it on a daily basis. 🗓️

Yeah, I thought seven newsletters per week was doable and sustainable for me. 😂

Luckily, some reasonability came upon me and I decided to make it a weekly thing.

And now I am twenty continuous weeks deep in it. That’s five months.

Personally, I’m impressed with myself. ✨✨

And it wasn’t always as smooth and easy as I imagined it. A few times I was so short on time that I played with the idea of just skipping it that Thursday.

But, imagine if I took it on as a daily task - I literally wouldn’t have lasted a full week.

Because I took it slowly, I managed to make some progress and get something done. 📈

We sometimes get the urge to totally revamp our entire life immediately. 🥇

We want to do something now and feel the urge to make crazy big steps because of a rush of adrenaline on a random Sunday evening.

Then we make huge changes to our everyday lives and cannot sustain it. ⛐

And eventually, you say “Screw it, I’m just not built for this.” and get back to your old self, unsatisfied because you know you can do better. 🥺

That goes for everything - starting a healthier lifestyle, getting into a habit of reading more, studying consistently, learning a new skill… 🛠️

Your body and your brain are so accustomed to your current way of living that they will resist hard to any changes you try to make.

You need to outsmart them.🧠

Start slowly.

Habit is a cable; we weave a thread each day, and at last we cannot break it.

Horace Mann

Yeah, it would be better to go from binge eating every night to a fully clean diet in one day but that’s not how it works honey.🤓

You know it, you’ve already been there and failed. We all have.

So, to get some actual change, you must take it seriously this time.

And that means being real with yourself, your body, and your mind. 🤹🏻

1% better every day gets you where you want to be eventually. Slowly, but surely, and then you can amp it up along the way.

⚠️ Don’t fall into the trap of feeling like you need to do everything now.

⚠️ Don’t fall for your ego either, thinking that starting slow is beneath you. It is not. You’re still gonna have bad days and will be tempted to quit.

But you’re gonna be less likely to quit because you won’t be completely overwhelmed by your goal.

Once you do something you said you’re gonna do, you realize that your life is more under control than you thought initially.

And what do we circle back to then? Building ✨ confidence ✨ (if you’ve been here for a while, you know, if not - read this lesson)

Sending you love and light,

Your Glowing Bestie✨❤️
