Read This If You Can't Stop Snoozing The Alarm In The Morning
but want to become ''that girl''
Reading Time: 2 mins
Too often we see self-improvement as a chore. As these dreadful things that need to be done, but we don’t actually want to do them. 😒
If someone asked you what your ideal morning routine looks like - you might list something like 20 minutes of meditation, journaling for three pages, a morning workout, reading a book…
You would most probably list all these nice cute habits you saw others preach on the Internet.
🔎 Now think REALISTICALLY about what you feel like in the morning.
In reality, you are probably fighting the overwhelming urge to press the snooze button until shit hits the fan and you have 20 minutes to get out of the house.
And then you hate yourself because you’re not living up to your Pinterest ideals.
But here is the trick to creating the life you want - you have to actually like the life you’re building.
If you hate every step of the process - what’s the point?
When building habits we need to start from the bare minimum.
In this case, that would be simply getting out of bed on time.
❓ So, how on earth can one get out of the warm, cozy bed in the morning without hating it?
👉 By having something to look forward to.
Your motivation to get out of bed needs to actually be motivating.
I don’t know about you but the appeal of running 5k straight after waking up was never appealing to me.
But, sipping on my morning cup of coffee for an extra 15 minutes while reading a book instead of chugging it in 30 seconds because I’m running late? Sign me up. ☕
Make your morning routine appealing. Make it something simple, yet enjoyable that sets the right tone for the rest of your day.
That’s the whole point of a morning routine.
To make it such that it enables you to give more during the rest of your day.
So ask yourself - what would make you get out of bed? A nice, hot shower? A quick yoga routine? Chatting to your family member or roommate over coffee? Perhaps a 5k run (apparently those people exist)? 🧘🏻♀️
The key is to be brutally honest with yourself. And to compromise with yourself.
Giving up something like snoozing your alarm needs be replaced with something at least somewhat appealing.
That’s the key of creating the life you want. Actually enjoying the journey and taking it step by step. 👣
Until Next Thursday,
Your Glowing Bestie ❤︎
