Buckle up girls, today we’re going DEEP. 🤿

Today I will teach you the ultimate secret to managing your own emotions and thus regaining control over your actions (and honestly, life in general). 🌀

You know how sometimes you go from feeling good to feeling low, sad or frustrated? But you have no idea where it came from?

Let me tell you something - it always comes from SOMEWHERE. 🔍

Your every emotion is elicited by a thought.

Sometimes it’s super simple, like when you’re hangry (angry because you’re hungry).

And sometimes it’s not so obvious. But it’s still there, you just have to look for it. And here is how. 👇

🧨 Go back and think when you first started feeling this way? What were you thinking about? Did someone say something? Did you see something? AKA → What was the trigger?

🧍 Then tune into your body and observe WHERE did you feel it? Was it in your chest? Was it pressure in your head? Was it a rush of adrenaline all over your body?

⚙️ Then find a way you can ground that emotion. Again, listen to your body with this one. What do you feel like doing? Punching a pillow? Journaling? Writing an angry letter? Going for a run? Do the thing that comes up and that allows you to physically process the emotion. (but don’t put yourself or anyone else in danger OBVIOUSLY)

🌱 Ask yourself: Where did it come from? We found the trigger, but what was triggered? What’s the underlying belief?

  • For example, you might be triggered by seeing a skinny, fit, gorgeous girl on Instagram. It might be because you don’t feel you’re beautiful, or have a body worth of admiration.

🦄Now recognize that IT’S ONLY A THOUGHT. If you can have full control over anything it’s over your own head. Realize that you can literally shape and shift your thoughts however you want.

  • Reshape that thought. Make it healthy. Change the narrative inside your mind one thought at a time.

I don't think you understand. You are in control.

🚨 Your thoughts shape your emotions. Your emotions dictate your actions. 🚨

IF YOU CHANGE THE WAY YOU THINK YOU LITERALLY CHANGE THE WHOLE GAME.

Sorry for yelling.

For example. You see that gorgeous girl on Instagram, you get annoyed, and you realize it’s because you think you’re not beautiful.

If your underlying belief is: My body is ugly you can reshape it into I love my body because it allows me to do so many things or I am so blessed to have this healthy body and I choose to show love to my body.

Guess what happens then? You start wanting to treat your body well. You start eating healthy. You start moving your body. Because taking care of your body means you love it. 🥗

You start looking yourself into mirror and LIKING what you see. 🤯

As I said before: You can’t hate yourself into someone you love.

I’m not saying all of this because you need to FIX your mood and always be happy. Not at all. Sometimes you need to feel low because you need to process something.

You shouldn’t ignore any negative feelings because pushing them under the rug or minimizing them quite literally stores trauma in your body and can make you physically unwell. 🤒

Instead, see every emotion as an indicator of what you have to work on.

All the emotions are actually extremely useful - it’s your body literally telling you what you need and want.

  • bitterness - shows where you need to heal and are still holding judgments of yourself or others

  • resentment - shows where you’re still living in the past and not allowing the present to be as it is

  • anger - shows what you’re passionate about and where your boundaries are

  • disappointment - shows that you’re tired of something, that you didn’t give it up and still care

  • sadness - shows you the depth of your care for others and the depth of your feelings

  • anxiety - shows that you need to snap out of your head right now and be present instead of living in fear of the future

  • shame - you’re internalizing other people’s beliefs about who you should be or are, you need to reconnect with yourself

Yes, I served it right to you here and now. The ultimate hack is yours. But that doesn’t mean it’s easy. 🏃

Not at all! Sometimes we might know things in theory, but it takes time and experience to KNOW it in practice.

But as long as you remember that every emotion you have is an experience you need to have and that you can overcome, you will be more than fine. 🤞

That’s all I have for you today,

Until the next Thursday,

Your Glowing Bestie ✨❤️
