Lucky Girl Syndrome, explained 💫
A disease you want to catch.

If your social media feeds are anything like mine, they have probably been flooded with content about the lucky girl syndrome. 💫
If you haven’t heard of it, I need you to come to the bright side of the Internet ASAP. Luckily, my newsletter is a part of it so you are on the right path.
Essentially, it is a state of mind in which everything that happens seems to align in your favor and where the right opportunities effortlessly land on your lap. Things always work out in your favor simply because you assume they will. 💫
The lucky girl syndrome is based on the law of assumption, which states that assuming a certain belief or mindset influences our reality.
The idea is that by assuming a positive outcome and acting in alignment with it, you are manifesting what you assumed in reality.
Believe that you are what you want to be.
Even though the lucky girl syndrome content you find online is mostly related to the manifestation and the so-called woo, there is a phenomenon in psychology that serves as the basis for this ‘’syndrome’’. 🧠
The psychological concept of self-fulfilling prophecy is a concept where belief or expectation influences our behavior and, thus, brings our belief into fulfillment.
In other words, our expectations (or assumptions) about a situation might be shaping actions and decisions so that they lead to the predicted outcome, even if the initial belief was not accurate.
Some could argue that it is just a rebrand of positive thinking, but I disagree. It is more than thinking everything is perfect, it is believing that things are working in your favor even when the evidence shows differently.
It’s a lot to digest, I know. Let me show you how it works in real life. 💥
Say you have a presentation tomorrow. Sure, you might be nervous about it, that’s normal, but you can still approach it with different mindsets.
If you catastrophize every possible negative outcome, think about ways you might embarrass yourself and expect it will go bad because you’re never good in presentations anyways - there is no freaking way it will be good.
However, if you just assume that it will go well no matter what and you embody the personality of someone who always kills their presentations, chances are your presentation might go pretty darn well.
You get the gist of it, right? 💫
So what do the lucky girls do when things don’t work out the way they planned? Now this is my favorite part. 🤍
They are okay with things not working out exactly the way they planned it because they know something better is in the works.
Since they assume things always work out for them, they just keep assuming that something better is coming their way.
This kind of thinking might not come to you easily if you’ve been framing your worldview negatively since you can remember, but it’s worth practicing.
I’m calling you not to shrug your shoulders and brush off this philosophy.
Embody the lucky girl spirit for a month and tell me how it goes for you. Give it a shot. After all, it’s free and you’ve got nothing to lose. You can only win. 💫
And if you’ve learned anything today it is that the lucky girls always win.
Keep glowing and growing my besties 💫💖
Sending you love,
Your Glowing Bestie 💌
