Girl, kudos to you 👏🏻

Give yourself a damn break

Reading Time: 2 mins 19 sec

You have grown so much. You have lived through so many experiences, seen and done so much. 😳

And I know you could have done more, but HEY! Don’t you see all that you have done? All the times you got up even if you didn’t feel like it? All the opportunities you have seized?

So today, on this blessed Thursday, let me allow you to give yourself a damn break. ☕

✨ Stop being so harsh on yourself.

✨ Stop comparing your chapter one to someone’s chapter twenty-seven.

✨ Stop overloading your daily to-do list and then hate yourself for not finishing it.

✨ Stop hating yourself for sleeping an extra 30 minutes after a long hard day.

✨ Stop being disgusted by yourself for eating that extra snack.

✨✨✨✨✨✨ Give yourself some grace. ✨✨✨✨✨✨

You can’t hate yourself into a version that you love.

If you are constantly hard on yourself, constantly feeling like you’re not enough, constantly hating yourself on the low - what’s the point?

No, but seriously - what’s the point of doing it if you hate every second of it? 🤦‍♂️

Today I want you to sit back and take a look at all you’ve done so far. It’s more than comes to mind right now!

For example, today I took a minute to read through my old newsletters I sent out throughout the last few months. Can you believe I started writing them half a year ago and never took a minute to appreciate the work I put in?

As I was reading them I thought: “Wait, I wrote these? Wtf they’re so good!” 🤭

We can get so hyperfocused on the end goal that we forget life is not about those short moments of experiencing a win. It’s about living through all of those little moments in between.

Imagine you’re standing on one side of a river and your goal on the other side. The bridge needs to be built brick by brick. 🏗️

Just because you haven’t reached the other end doesn’t mean you won’t ever get there.

Don’t freak out, the bridge is being built! And you are building it right now. Stressing over it won’t make it build faster. 🌟

✍️ Take out a piece of paper and look back to all of the things you have accomplished in the last few months. And I don’t mean only the big things such as getting a degree or landing a job.

Include all those little wins such as getting up earlier, reducing your screen time, learning a new skill, getting a good grade, spending more quality time with your friends, eating more veggies…

Don’t fall into the trap of thinking you are never doing enough. That’s the quickest way to giving up for good.

Yes, you can do more. Yes, perhaps you should do more.

But that doesn’t mean you’re not doing anything right now.

Let me repeat this again: You can’t hate yourself into a version you love.

Sending you love and light,

Your Glowing Bestie ❤️💫
