When you just don't feel like it 😤
Reading Time: 1 min 53 sec
Oh girl, I hear you. You are tired and overwhelmed. 😤
You promised yourself to read 20 pages per day and go to the gym every other day in 2024 but now, almost four weeks in, you just don’t feel like it.
One skip won’t hurt anyone, right? 🤔
We’ve all been there. Me, you, the girl next door and Beyonce. It is perhaps one of the most shared human experiences. 🌍
Well, what if I told you that I literally cracked the secret on how to deal with those moments? 🔮
I am not even joking. This is what separates the successful from the unsuccessful. The people who seemingly have it all together from all the rest.
Here it is: do it shitty. 🧻
Yeah, just like that. When you don’t feel like it, just do it badly.
But still do it. ✔️
Let’s use an analogy. Imagine you’re building a house. What do you need? Bricks and mortar (that cement thing in between bricks). 🏠
Bricks are all the times you show up and do your best, they are the strong foundation of your house. ⚡
And mortar is all of those times that you couldn’t do it as well as you imagined, but you did it the best you could at the moment. It is all those times you allowed yourself to do a shitty job, but you did it anyways. ✨
If you are tired and you don’t want to do a gym session - okay. There are still ways you can show up for your goal - do a stretching session at home, or just show up to the gym and walk on the treadmill. 🧘🏻♂️
You don’t want to read your twenty pages today? Okay babe, read five. 📖✨
Allow yourself to not do things perfectly every single time. That doesn’t mean you’re not giving it your all. It is precisely the opposite. Just by showing up when you don’t feel like it you’re doing your best. ❤️
It’s consistency that counts. 🌸
Most of life is showing up. You do the best you can, which varies from day to day.
I can tell you I didn’t feel like writing my newsletter this week. Life got busy, I had no inspiration and I left writing it for the last minute. ⏳
So, you know what I did? I set my Pomodoro timer and told myself that whatever I write in these twenty-five minutes is enough.
It is enough because I showed up. ✔️
And I hope you remember this the next time you consider skipping on a habit of yours. 💤
So many fall off the track just because they can’t handle not being perfect. Don’t be one of them. ✨
Sending you love and light,
Your Glowing Bestie 💖✨
