Unprocrastinate yourself
Do This When You Feel Like Procrastinating 🦥
Reading Time: 3 min 2 sec
Some days you sit down to study or work and you just KNOW you won’t do ish. 🥱
Like every neuron in your brain just REJECTS cooperation. You try to work but then you find yourself three hours later on Instagram or TikTok, scrolling your life away and hating yourself.
“I just can’t do it”, you tell yourself, “It’s too hard, I’m not built for this.”😔
✋⛔ STOP. I’m giving you permission to STOP with all that counterproductive negative self-talk. ⛔✋
So, how about next time you sense a procrastination loop coming you don’t allow yourself to get sucked in?
You know what I say all the time: 👉 You can’t hate yourself into someone you love.
How the heck are you going to become best version of yourself if you punish yourself every time you need a break? 🙅🏻♂️
So how about instead of spending your whole afternoon hating yourself and doomscrolling you do one hour of productive work and spend three hours of procrastinating productively? ✨ Wouldn’t that be so much better?
In one of our previous classes we covered the deeper reason why we procrastinate (you can read it here), so today I’m giving you five activities to do to procrastinate productively:
Sleep😴
How cruel would it be to push yourself to do more and more, study for hours, expect full focus and deep work when you’ve been running on 5 hours of sleep for weeks? Would you expect that from someone else while telling them they’re stupid and lazy?
No? So why do that to yourself? Instead of pushing yourself and trying to study for the whole day, do yourself a favor and go to bed at 9 p.m. DON’T set your alarm for 5 a.m. tho! SLEEP. Get some rest. Rejuvenate your body. 💆🏻♀️
Girl, I’m telling you, once you see how your brain works on consistent 8-9 hours of sleep there is no coming back.
Exercise 🏋🏻♂️
It might seem like a waste of time to go for an hour-long walk or to take 40 minutes for a workout session. It’s not. 💪🏻
First of all, your body is quite literally your vessel and enables you to do all that you do. Including work and study.
The math is super simple - if you take better care of your body you do EVERYTHING better. 🤸
Second of all, if you know you’re gonna just spend the next two hours doing absolutely nothing why not exercise? It’s beneficial in every aspect and might even energize you to get some work done.
Housework🧼
Cooking, cleaning, dusting, sorting… Not only might a clean environment encourage you to start working (clear space = clear mind), but will give you a sense of accomplishment and get you going with your further work.
Listen to music ▶︎ •၊၊||၊|။|||| |
Give yourself a timeframe to listen to music and dance around the house guilt free. Or do it until you are exhausted. Raise the good vibes, lift you mood, act like you’re in music video, act silly and get your body moving! 🎧
Instead of doing nothing, do literally anything else.🔋
You know what you actually want to do. You likely haven’t been taking care of yourself and all your needs all too well. Now your body is rejecting you punishing it with some more work. ☀️
So, unless your need is to catch the first flight to Ibiza, do that thing you want to do. It’s not really productive not to enjoy your life from time to time, is it? (or catch that flight to Ibiza, idk)
Then come back to your work. It will be so much easier to do it. Trust me.
Save this newsletter for when you’re in a (un)productive slump. 💥
Until next Thursday,
Lots of love,
